Go Top SEO vs BrightLocal

BrightLocal measures your local presence. We also write and publish

BrightLocal is a deep local measurement tool — rankings, a geo-grid map, citations, reviews. Go Top SEO covers that half with a monthly check, and adds the part it has no engine for: articles written and published to your site, and posts to your Google Business Profile.

BrightLocal is a good product, and for some businesses it is the right one. This page is not here to argue otherwise. It is here to show what each of us is strong at, so you can tell which one fits you.

When BrightLocal is the better buy

On the local half they are simply deeper

If your whole question is local, BrightLocal measures it better than we do, and there is no point pretending otherwise.

When local measurement is the whole job

Even their cheapest tier tracks up to 100 keywords against four competitors, with a geo-grid map for five. We check once a month. For a business whose living depends on its position in Maps, that gap matters.

When reviews need to arrive, not just be answered

Their Grow tier collects reviews by email, SMS and in-store campaigns, and publishes them on your site. We draft replies to reviews that already exist; we do not generate new ones. That is a whole area we do not cover.

When listings and citations are a mess

Citation accuracy monitoring and syncing your details across key sites is work we do not do at all. Their trial is also longer than ours — 14 days against 7, both with no card.

When we fit better

When somebody also has to write

The central difference is simple: BrightLocal shows you what is happening. Someone still has to write and publish.

Articles that publish without you

A monthly topic plan you approve, then articles with images and internal links going live on their own.

One subscription instead of two

Matching the same coverage means buying a local tool and a writing tool. With us it is one price.

The site itself as well

Some on-site fixes are applied through our plugin rather than left as a to-do list.

Seven languages, Hebrew included

Interface, content and reports in your language — right-to-left included — on WordPress and on Shopify.

Questions

What people ask before deciding

BrightLocal is cheaper. Why would I not just take it?

If measurement is what you are missing, take it — their entry tier costs less than ours, their trial is longer and needs no card, and the measurement itself is deeper. The question is what happens after the report arrives: if there is nobody to write the pages and put them live, next month’s report shows the same thing.

Can I use both?

Yes, and for some businesses that is the right combination: them for detailed local measurement, us for the writing, the publishing and the Google Business Profile posts. The two do not conflict.

Do you offer a geo-grid map like theirs?

No. We check your position in Google Maps once a month; we do not spread it across a grid of points around the city. If you need that resolution, this is the side where they are stronger.
